Job Description

Chief Business Officer (CBO) → Future CEO

Location: Austin, TX

Type: Co-Founder CBO | Full-Time | Equity + Competitive Compensation

Reports to: Founding CEO

Stage: Series A (Targeting Series-B, $20M+ Raise)

The Opportunity

We’re a Series A Robotics & Logistics company preparing for rapid growth and we’re looking for a commercial co-founder to lead us through our next capital raise and into long-term operational success.

As Chief Business Officer (CBO), and future CEO, you’ll be responsible for securing $20M+ in funding, leading the business side of our company, and building the operational structure to scale sustainably. The technical CEO will remain focused on engineering, while you’ll own the business.

You must be confident in your ability to raise capital directly, build trust with U.S. venture funds, and lead cross-functional teams across sales, operations, and marketing. You’ll eventually transition into the CEO role as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership

  • Act as the day-to-day CEO, overseeing GTM, marketing, sales, operations, and organizational performance
  • Own the growth strategy, including revenue targets, KPIs, and commercial execution
  • Lead the strategic design and direction of the business in collaboration with the founding team

Capital & Fundraising

  • Lead all fundraising efforts for our $20M+ round, owning investor outreach, narrative, and negotiations
  • Maintain and grow strong relationships with U.S.-based venture funds, acting as the point of contact for all VC activity
  • Bring a robust network of investors and advisors to accelerate momentum and traction

Execution & Scale

  • Build scalable go-to-market systems across sales, marketing, and customer success
  • Drive operational excellence and structure, setting up the business for long-term efficiency and exit-readiness
  • Prepare the company for growth, acquisition, or later-stage funding

Must-Have Experience:

-CEO or CBO experience at an early-stage startup, ideally having led from Seed to Series A/B

-Directly raised $20M+ from institutional investors (with a strong U.S. VC network)

-Built and led GTM, operations, and business strategy, ideally in a technical/robotics product or logistics tech company

Preferred Industry Knowledge (Not Required, but Valued)

  • Robotics and Automation
  • Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Tech
  • Deep Tech or Manufacturing Tech
  • Venture Capital / Fundraising
  • U.S. VC Market & Networks

Who You Are

  • Resilient, calm under pressure, and experienced in navigating startup challenges
  • Confident in your leadership—both to build internal trust and to earn investor confidence
  • Strategic and structured, but never afraid to roll up your sleeves and execute
  • Energized by the opportunity to co-found and lead a company through a major growth phase
  • Cares deeply about company culture, especially around continuous improvement, autonomy, and accountability

Our Values

  • Accountability – Own your outcomes.
  • Autonomy – Act decisively, with responsibility.
  • Be Helpful – Support the team, the mission, and each other.
  • Be Nice – Kindness and respect are non-negotiable.

What Success Looks Like

  • $20M+ raised from top-tier U.S. venture capital firms
  • Clear and compelling business strategy delivered and executed
  • Strong internal culture with scalable GTM and operations
  • CEO transition completed with confidence from the board and investors
  • Momentum toward an eventual acquisition or scale-stage success

Equity is available for the right candidate.
