Associate – Employee Defection & Trade Secrets | Multiple Locations
Locations: Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Irvine, New York
Our client, a nationally recognized labor and employment law firm, is seeking Associates with 3–5 years of experience in restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation to join its Employee Defection and Trade Secrets Practice Group. This is a dynamic opportunity for attorneys with litigation experience focused on protecting business interests through injunctive relief, expedited discovery, and forensic investigation.
Position Overview:
Associates in this role will work closely with an elite team of litigators handling high-stakes trade secret and employee mobility disputes. You’ll be exposed to a broad range of cutting-edge legal work involving data security, corporate competition, and business protection strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle litigation of trade secret and restrictive covenant cases, including:
Drafting and arguing motions for injunctive relief
Managing expedited discovery and forensic investigations
Taking and defending depositions
Navigating e-discovery and computer forensic issues
Collaborate with clients on litigation strategy, risk analysis, and resolution
Work alongside a national team on multi-jurisdictional disputes and enforcement actions
Contribute to the continued evolution of best practices in the area of employee defection litigation
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in restrictive covenant, trade secret, or related employment litigation
Substantial experience with:
Injunctive relief practice
Expedited discovery and evidentiary motion work
Computer forensics and e-discovery protocols
JD from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission to the bar in the state corresponding to one of the listed office locations
Excellent academic credentials, legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Candidates must reside within reasonable proximity to one of the following offices:
Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Irvine, or New York
Some flexibility available; however, occasional in-office presence is expected
Compensation:
California and New York salary range: $200,000 – $235,000
Actual salary will be determined based on location, experience, internal equity, and qualifications
