Job Description

Description Our client, a busy distribution company, located in La Mirada, is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their team on an open-ended contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in managing daily financial operations, including posting payments, handling refunds, and maintaining accurate records. As a member of their AR team, you will work closely with customers to ensure proper transaction handling, while contributing to the company's financial accuracy and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: + Cash Posting: Record and reconcile daily incoming payments, ensuring all transactions are accurately documented and applied to customer accounts. + Payment Processing: Monitor and process lockbox deposits, ACH (Automated Clearing House) payments, and credit card transactions efficiently. + Transaction Research: Investigate and resolve overpayments, ensuring any necessary corrections are made. + Refund Processing: Handle and process customer refunds by adhering to company policies and accounting standards. + Customer Collaboration: Maintain open communication with customers to address payment discrepancies or questions about account-related transactions. + Record Maintenance: Manage and organize financial records associated with cash posting, payment research, adjustments, and refunds to support accurate reporting and potential audits. Requirements Qualifications: + Previous experience in accounts receivable + Strong knowledge of payment processing systems, including ACH, lockbox, and credit card platforms. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and resolving discrepancies. + Strong organizational abilities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. + Hands-on experience working with customers to resolve financial issues or inquiries is a plus. + Proficiency in relevant accounting and payment systems/software. + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
