Regional School Unit 40, located in midcoast Maine, is seeking a qualified and dynamic leader to serve as Director of Special Services. This full-time administrative position oversees all special education programs and related services across the district. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in special education or a related field, Maine Administrator of Special Education (030) certification, and have a minimum of three years of successful experience in special education.
The Director will be responsible for program leadership, compliance with federal and state regulations, staff supervision, budget management, and fostering best practices to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. Strong communication skills and a deep understanding of special education law are essential.
